Over the years this school has established itself as a centre of academic excellence since 1965, producing some of the best technocrats, engineers, doctors, teachers and leaders of various cadres in Kenya.
Today we still hold dear the ideals which continue to define Kigumo Bendera High School.
It is important to note that Kigumo Bendera High School is now transiting to the new system of education where the school will change its name to Kigumo Bendera Senior School in line with the new C.B.E curriculum of education.”

Background of Our School

Kigumo Bendera High School is an Extra County/C2 boys school situated in Kigumo Location, Kigumo Sub County of Murang’a County in Central Kenya.

  • It is situated along Kaharati-Kangari road, off Kenol – Murang’a road.
  • It is a registered four stream boys Boarding school with a population of 772 students.
  • It offers 8.4.4 curriculum of Education in Form 4 and Form 3.
  • From this year, 2026 the school is offering the CBC curriculum of the new CBE system of education.
  • The school was established in 1965.  It is sponsored by the ACC& S church.
  • Kigumo Bendera High School sits on twelve acres piece of land.
  • The school is currently an Extra County/C 2 School with a validly appointed Board of Management by Ministry of Education (MOE).
